So we hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, ours was wonderful. Bella enjoyed her first thanksgiving with a few bottles o’ milk and a long nap. Of course she loves to sleep when we are around other people. You have to catch her at 5:30 am if you want to see her partying. It’s pretty fun to wake up early!
I feel like this year was the best Thanksgiving ever, my parents are moved back, we are home owners now and of course we’ve got beautiful Bella. I’ve been wanting to thank Phia for a while now because she really has been amazing through the pregnancy and as a mother. She’s taken care of Bella better then I could have ever wished for and she still manages to take great care of me too. She’s an amazing wife, mother and my best friend to boot. So as a small thank you for all the things she does for me and Bella, I gave her a pair of diamond earrings. Continue reading “Happy Thanksgiving!”
3.5 years later it was still one of the best days ever! Look at all those familiar faces! Check out the pic below…click on the image to view it larger!

So here we are nearly 3 weeks into parent hood and things are going better. First of all let me say that Phia has become the most amazing mother any man can hope for his child. She’s be just incredible. She’s delicate and loving with Bella in everything she does, even when she’s dead tired and it’s 3:30am. She troopers through the tough stuff without complaint or regret, regardless of how tired she might be or how much she might be in pain. I try to help out as much as I can, but with me back at work, the great majority of responsibility falls on her shoulders, she’s truly amazing.
Bella has done her part to make life a little easier. She’s settled into some routines, in the sense that feedings have become more routine vs the struggle they once were. Their frequency however is still pretty wishy washy, it’s not every 2 hours on the hour it can vary wildly so we’re still working on that. Bella works in generalities. In General she’s been pretty awake in the mornings, pretty sleepy in the afternoon, occasionally fussy in the evening and sleeping in blocks of 2-4 hours through the night. However at any given moment any of this can go out the window, and so goes life with a newborn.
It gets better every day though and even when it’s 4am and she’s gotten poop everywhere it’s really hard not to see her cute little face and smile. She’s so innocent and dependent on us that you just have to take the bad stuff and forget it and understand that she deserves nothing less than unconditional love.
These pics are a little late but I forgot I took them. Before we really got into anything we originally went into the hospital thinking that it was going to be quick and that we’d be home directly. It’s funny now but back then we were really naive. First of all we thought we’d have the baby same day, that was Thursday, and that we’d be home by Friday or Sat latest. Boy were we wrong.
