Phia and I are hoping to arrange a real Maternity photo shoot with her Aunt Stephanie, who is one of the most amazing photographers I’ve ever seen. If you’ve ever seen the Engagement shots she did for us, you know what I mean. In the mean time, fears of an early baby prompted us to give it a try on our own. The last thing we want is for the baby to come early and miss our window of opportunity for some nice pics. By no means to do either of us really know what we’re doing, I have a lens and just enough knowledge to be dangerous and Phia’s just gorgeous so that helps. I didn’t even know what the heck a “Maternity Portrait” was at first and that scared me a little. But I looked around online and got some ideas of how people shoot then and did my best.
I always enjoy shooting pics of Phia as EVERYONE knows, so I didn’t need a whole lot of incentive to start snapping. Anyway we headed out to Guajcome Lake Park near our house yesterday evening and gave it a whirl. It turns out that place is a treasure trove of photo friendly spots so were weren’t short of beautiful scenery. It was actually really fun to fumble our way through it just the two of us. At first I think we were both a little apprehensive without any real direction, but it turned out that figuring it out was really fun!
What follows is the fruits and our labor (sorry honey, didn’t mean to use that word!) anyway we think they came out pretty nice. To be honest, it’s all but impossible to screw up a picture of Phia, so I can’t take much credit. Below is the gallery, simply click on any image to view it larger and click left or right to see the images before or after. The little “x” will close the window.
Or if you have any trouble viewing them, you can see them here on Flickr. Enjoy!

GREAT pictures! Phia you are sooo beautiful!!
luv you guys! Beautiful. Just can’t wait for Isabella to arrive. Auntie
Honey, you did a spectacular job!! Thank you so much!! Sorry boys, these photos are mainly for the girls to enjoy! hehehe
Give me a break Phia men like it too. Me and the boys pass around Maternity galleries all the time. Just the other day Nick Buck said to me “Hey Bryan, check out this photo I found online of this pregnant woman, isn’t it marvelous how the skin has such a glow during pregnancy? The gift of life is so miraculous and precious, I sometimes cry thinking about it.” I was moved by his words.
Great pictures! I still think you should name the baby Marilyn Munster Jr. !!
Looking good Phia – but where are the pics of Bryan and his belly – LMAO
It’s called a sympathy belly and I only have it to show support for Phia!
Congrats! Amazing pics and what a beautiful baby! It goes by so fast cherish every second!
