So on my actual BirthDAY this year, I wanted to stay low key and local. I asked Phia if we could just stay around Carlsbad, have some drinks, maybe play some shuffleboard at one of the local bars and listen to some live music at the Coyote Bar. That to me was the perfect day. As it turned out it sounded pretty good to Martin and Meghan and Buck and Lindsay as well. There’s nothing I like more then spending a beautiful sunny day in San Diego with my wife and close friends. In particular when there’s no agenda, no pressure and no work the next day. It’s my perfect day!
The day actually worked out perfectly, we just kind of enjoyed the day and early evening, ending up at Mr. Peabody’s and then the Coyote. We listened to some live music for a while and enjoyed sitting on the Patio as the weather was really nice. Unfortunately Lindsay was at her parents most of the day so we decided to cab back to Phia and my place to meet up with her and cap the night with some wild Wii action. It was a really fun birthday.
I also have to mention that Martin and Buck teamed up and got me an extremely nice gift. These guys know that I almost never leave the house without my camera and usually I stuff it into a standard backpack. Not the best thing for access, and safety of the camera. So they found this amazing backpack that is specifically designed with me in mind. It’s got a great padded compartment for the camera that is easily accessible on the fly, so you can shoot and then put it away. There are compartments everywhere for lenses, cables, my laptop, flashes, literally everything an aspiring photographer could want. So to Martin and Buck, both of you, THANKS SO MUCH for the gift, it’s f***ing awesome!!!
