So this morning as I was about to step out of my home, I realized that there was either
1. a bat
2. the words biggest Moth ever
3. a Pterodactyl
on the beam on the over hang leaving my house. My first thought was that a prehistoric beast had managed it’s way back into existence. Perhaps some primordial mixture of dryer vent lint, stagnant sprinkler water and pollen had married with some slightly buried Dino DNA in the soil out front. Certainly at the very least this beast had been irradiated by a local Camp Pendleton weapons experiment gone awry. Continue reading “The Pterodactyl Incident…”
Alright Pardres fans, time to Rally! This is a fundraiser that I know some of you may be interested in. Literally all that is required of you is that you go to a Padre game which is pretty fun in itself, but this time you’ll also be helping out the Leukemia & Lymphoma society! Help raise money to wipe out blood Cancers and drink a beer while you do it! Continue reading “My Road to the Marathon: Pardres Fund Raiser!”
Eric, Ric’ The Doctor, whatever name you know him by, my old buddy (we’re talkin’ Kindergarten here people!) came down to San Diego and stayed with us for an evening. Those that know him, know that Eric is a phenomenal artist, so he was on his way to the Comic Convention here in San Diego to drop off submissions of his work. I saw his current work and it’s really amazing. I have no doubt that he’ll be getting some interest in his ability. If you’ve never seen any of his stuff, the pic of Bono to the left is just an example of what he’s capable of. He drew that for me on my birthday (in high school no less!). Continue reading “Eric down in SD!”
This weekend we celebrated Jen’s 29th birthday in Solana Beach. We had dinner at the Wild Note Cafe which adjoins the Belly Up Tavern, which was convenient since we also caught Dread Zeppelin (more on them in a later post) . Continue reading “Jen’s Birthday in Solana Beach”
Hello everyone! So this past weekend was a busy one! In my continuing effort to raise $3,300 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society, we did a little fund raising at the Pride parade in Hillcrest. Bryan and I and some friends from TNT (Melissa, Meghan and a couple others) loaded up tons of party beads (mostly on Bryan!) and walked around asking for a donations in exchange for some beads. Continue reading “My Road to the Marathon: Fund Raising at Pride 08″
Recently I’ve been learning about the Caduceus Winery that is co owned by Maynard James Keenan. The Winery is located in Arizona which in the wine industry is not only unusual, it’s all but unheard of. Maynard, who you would most likely know as the lead singer of Tool, is also the singer of A Perfect Circle and more recently Puscifer. After doing a google search for his wines, I happened upon a wine tasting in LA that he was going to be attending. I showed Bill and we decided to rally, we purchased what ended up being the last 3 tickets available. Continue reading “Caduceus Wine Tasting with Maynard!”
Congratulations to the winners of the tournament!

That’s right, not only Poker, but some hard core Wii action!

Hello Everyone,
So as many of you know Meghan and I hosted a Texas Hold Em’ Poker fundraiser this weekend and we had a really great turn out. First and foremost I’d like to say thank you to each and everyone who participated and donated on Saturday night. Because of all of your generosity Meghan and I we’re able to take a big step forward towards reaching our goals of raising 3,300 each. We have a long road ahead of us still and it’s going to be a lot of hard work (both with the fund raising and training!) but we know that we can make it and it’s truly for a wonderful cause.
In particular I’d like to thank Bill and Jen for the use of their beautiful house, Nick and Abby for organizing the games, Martin for making all that amazing food and everyone who attended for all your generosity! TO ALL ,THANK YOU!

Yes you heard me right! Phia and I went to Stone Brewery in Escondido this weekend to attend a little Beer and Chocolate pairing. I’m truly not a chocolate kind of guy (I know I’m crazy) but I have to admit that it was much better with the beers. I thought they did a great job of pairing the beers in such a way that the chocolate cut the hops or that the beer itself complimented the chocolate. All in all it was really fun. Phia on the other hand loves chocolate so she was of course in heaven.

I’m sure Phia will post up some of her chocolate favorites, as for me, I truly enjoyed the Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale. The regular Arrogant Bastard is a punch you in the face beer that is not for everyone. I find it a little “too much” but I thought the Oaked version, was much more mellow. The oaking process of aging it slightly in an Oak barrel as the name suggest, really did a great job of rounding out those rough edges and making it really accessible.
